Esquire North Showhouse

Esquire's bachelor returned to New York in 2007 to quite a showplace. The penthouse was located on New York's Central Park North with panoramic views of the city. Kristen was chosen as one of ten prominent interior designers to turn this raw space into nothing less than spectacular. The task at hand was to create an unique and stylish home gym for the ultimate bachelor. Partnering with the Japanese based ASICS the concept of a space to retreat and relax the mind while exercising came into being.

The result was pure zen. The walls were wrapped with Japanese sand stucco accentuated with custom walnut millwork. Serenely lighting the gym was a stunning shoji-screened wall and custom-designed ceiling fixtures made of bronze and glass. With a nod to the traditional, but keeping the sophisticated Esquire bachelor in mind, a custom woven leather tatami floor was designed. The specimen bonsai trees brought a touch of nature to the indoors. While working out on his Technogym Kensis machine and treadmill any bachelor would feel right at home.
